    Now
    http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...t/DSC08571.jpg

She's pounding medium rats like there's no tomorrow! My first thoughts when seeing her feed were that I must have been ripped off and given some other snake. She can't be a ball python with a feeding response better than my blood's!

Anyways, here are a few more.

I think you mean rat pups or small rats because medium rats are waaaaay to big for her... She will easily regurge a medium rat if she is able to swallow it... I have my normal bp thats pounding medium rats and I still think they are way to big for her

Nice big BP. How much does she weigh? My 2600 gram girl eats mediums so I think you mean small, too.

It is very possible that the OP is getting her rats from a pet store that labels the rats sizes such that this snake is eating what they call medium rats. It is not like there is any sort of standard on what size is called what.

OP - if you want to get an idea of whether the things you are calling medium rats are in line with what most people call medium rats, take a look at the sizes on this link:
    http://rodentpro.com/catalog.asp?pro...el=frozen_rats

If the "medium rats" you are feeding are as big as those medium rats, you may want to go down a size. Overfeeding BPs can lead to them going on a hunger strike until things have evened out. This probably is not very harmful to the snake, but it is more convenient and less stressful to the owner if the snake eats regularly every week. Another possibility is that the snake will get obese, which probably is no more healthy for them than it is for us.

Yes I totally forgot the Pet stores generally go by a different size. My Pet Store's Extra Large rats are the same size as my Suppliers' Mediums!

She's got awesome size on her!

I second was Casey said. Where I used to go for my feeders, they didn't really have a set size of rats. They didn't even really label them, so if I told them I need a rat pup, he'd come back with a small rat.

    Thanks, guys!

Yes, the mediums at our pet store are definitely closer in size to the smalls at Rodent Pro. :)
