best place to get activated charcoal
I was reading the thread on the DIY carbon air purifier, some of the guys mentioned buying the activated charcoal from Wal-mart.

I went there and found some , but the jars were pretty small. I wanted to buy a bigger jar but they didn't have any . I could have bought more than one jar , but I was thinking of making a few of these , so I figured it would be cheaper to just buy one large jar if I can find one.

does anyone know where else they sell it?
I was thinking of checking canadian tire or home depot, or maybe an aquarium store.

Hands down the best prices and most knowledgeable people I've found.

Tell them what you need it for and they can get you squared away.

Mitch21 on here has bought from them.

ended up getting some from big Al's . 22oz for $16 , I think that should last me for a while.

I made a filter , but the fan I was using wasn't drawing enough air through the filter so I just used a thin layer of charcoal and it seems to be doing to the job ok.
