    Over Feeding?
Ok well I just got a scale the other day it was on sale form 49.99 to 29.99 so I thought I need one so what the hell and bought it. Now my snake weight the following:
    Pastel: 104
Normal:134 (empty tank pooped twice before this was in the 150's haha)
    Spider: 109
Now I was did the 10%-15% rule and factored that in to mouse size but it just doesn't seem right. My Normal has recently been taking 1 20 gram mouse and a large mouse pinky. So around like 22-23 grams. With the poo in him that was a good meal now it seems to be overkill. Also my spider downed a 15-17 gram mouse last week. I was thinking to up to large mice/rat pups @25-27 grams. With my normal by next week and with the spider in 2 weeks. I was hoping to have my pastel up there or atleast to 20 gramers by the next 2 weeks. None have ever thrown up either.
SOOOO is feeding over the 15% more of around 20ish% a bad thing or will they just poo and get fat faster? And do BP's get obease?

BTW Im asking mainly b/c it's the 130 am on feeding day (happens at 10 pm) and they are all out of there hides and look ready for food. I mean I understand the whole nocturnal part but they aren't this active.

I did exactly what you did when I got my scale.....I wieghed everything. I went and got my normal mice for feeding day and it was waaaaaaaaaaayyyy over the 10 to15%. To me that percentage seems way to little so I just go by what the girth of the snake is. That works way better for both me and the snakes. I still weigh everything and document....but just dont go by the percentage. Hope that helps you.

That is what I was thinking. Rats pups should be fine for my guys. Any one have some rat pups and want to measure the width and tell me how thick they are? Im guessing an 3/4 of an inch. I know my normal can devour them but I need it more for my pastel and spider.

I've never used the 10-15% "rule" (I think it's pretty corny myself). I go by the size of the widest part of the feeder (just before the hips) against the girth of the snake, and feed one size appropriate meal per week for juvies and adults, and every 4th or 5th day for babies.
