Best to do some research and find what you feel you'd be happy with and still be able to meet the basic needs. After all, it is your decision and your responsability.
Next for me would definitely be a Carpet Python.

With all due respect that you mention, what reply were you reading?? I sense not an ounce of sarcasm or disrespect in Sarin's reply to your post. Only a piece of advice that completely makes sense.
No matter what opinions you get in reply, it is ultimately your decision to make, as well as your responsibility to research and determine the temperment, size and care measurements you are willing and in more ways than one, ABLE to put forth in making sure the given animal is well taken care of and maintained.
Someone on this thread could swear on their respective religion's holy book that a blood python would be your "logical" next step due to their personal success with said animal and the fact that it meets your size requirements and in their experience was just as docile. You go and purchase one and six months later you've been bitten how many times?
In short, I think Sarin's reply makes perfect sense and I feel you've slightly jumped the gun in calling the replier disrespectful.
Also; I'd agree with Sarin that a Carpet Python would be a good choice.
