    Introducing Aphrodite
I am very proud to introduce my new albino RTB, Aphrodite. :) This little lady was a rescue from a home that knew next to nothing about taking care of snakes. She's one of the sweetest snakes I've ever encountered, has never hissed or tried to bite, despite gentle scrubbing around her eyes with a baby toothbrush. She had one of the most severe mite infections I have ever seen (several of them were big enough that they could have been mistaken for small ticks!), she had two retained eyecaps, was extremely dehydrated and terribly emaciated from lack of food and clean water. Needless to say, when she came to me, she was a mess. I treated her for the mites and worked diligently to get rid of them. As of today, she shed, and whoa Nelly, let me tell you that was a nightmare. :D Bits and pieces is the only way I can describe it. However, the good news is that BOTH eyecaps came off, woo hoo! Now we're just working on getting some much needed weight on her. These pictures were taken the day before yesterday, so she is still in shed, but I had to share. I'll take more pics later this evening and post them to show off her gorgeous eyes. :)

It looks like they definitely didn't know how to feed her. Good luck getting the weight on her. I think she's going to be a really pretty girl.

She is pretty despite the mistreatment. I'm sure she'll be gorgeous once all her shed issues are history and she's had a proper feeding schedule for a while. Good rescue!

Such a beautiful animal. Why can't people take care of their animals? Well, at least she has a caring home now. Can't wait to see her once she's got some weight on her!:D

Glad to hear that she is now in the care of someone who cares, and knows how to take care of her. She is a beauty, btw.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the compliments and comments. :) She is absolutely the sweetest snake I've ever encountered. I'm soooo excited, because she shed fully (including her retained eyecaps!) and just yesterday I fed her and she gobbled her mousie right down. :D She's already looking so much better...I believe we've got the dehydration problem whipped. I'll post more pics in a month or two, to show how well she's doing.
