Question about follicles

So I am really excited about the fact I can now palpate a female successfully. :D I felt a few to begin with and today I felt 4 follicles, no mistake. No more, no less. Is this an indication of how many eggs she will lay? Last season I was not able to palpate with any kind of success and she laid 6 eggs. I'm feeling four follicles so does this mean I should expect 4 eggs?

I would think that you have 4 "potentials"

Those 4 would get pushed down to meet the sperm and would hopefully be fertilized.

When they aren't, you get a slug.
