    Food waisting observation
I typically clean out all of the bedding in the corner where the ASFs do their business. I'll move some of the cleaner bedding into the mess corner and put down some fresh bedding in the opposite corner. The adults have always wasted some food, but not enough for me to notice it being a big problem.

Last weekend I completely changed out the bedding in my tubs and put down fresh bedding. I noticed during this past week that they went through more food than normal. I just went and did my typical 'corner cleaning', and OMG. They waisted a huge amount of food this time.

I'm guessing the fresh bedding had something to do with them waisting that extreme amount of food. I guess they like a certain amount of chewed up food mixed in with their bedding, and they were making up for it with the fresh bedding.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

FYI.... I use kiln dried pine as bedding.

I can't say about the bedding , but mine waste a lot of food as too.
little bastards just chew it up and leave it everywhere, I found that if I fill the hopper up they just chew up everything. now I put in just enough for them to eat each day.
