    Just in!
Hello everyone, just reporting that I have received my 1.0 Normal BP today from Pro Exotics and dealing with them was/is a pleasure.

    Now for some initial questions

    1. He is not using any of his hiding area. I have 2 areas (one over a UTH and one not) He instead chooses to sit in the middle. Is this an issue?

    2. Should I remove one of the hides so that he has more room?

    3. The humidity is over 70% in his viv, should I leave him alone to adjust or go ahead and take him our to make the holes bigger?

Nope...he has to get use to his surroundings. The hardest part.....no touchy touchy for a week. Let him get settled in.

Watch your warm side keep it at 92-93.....your cool side should be around 82-83.
    He's a looker...congrats

Yeah, he has a great pattern with great bright tans/browns.

I just turned down the rheostat to get the temps a bit lower. But I'm concerned about getting the ambient temps higher. How could I do that w/o making the UTH too hot?

Also- should I stress about the RH being 70+%?

When my corn was in there (in the past) the same holes provided about 50-60% RH, wonder what gives there?? Lol

aim for a 80-84 cool side and a 90-94 warm side.

78-80 cool side is still fine but with babies warmer is better which helps develop proper digestion and growth.

to drop the humidity just add a few holes at a time. put 2 more on each side and wait. if you need more do as you see fit. aim for a 50-60%

I realize that I need warmer ambient temps but, how do I achieve them using 1 UTH?

Should I leave the guy alone with the high RH until he "settles in" or do it now?

you can use another heating pad on the cool side to help raise the temps. You can also use a space heater to keep room at 77-80 and you will be fine there too.

right now the ambient is 76.1F in there with the warm at 94.0F.

A space heater wouldn't be the worst idea.... I think I have one

Luckily, since I was wanting to do F/T anyway, Pro Exotics noted that he was started on F/T Rat pups, which from what I can tell is equal to a Large Adult Mouse, is this the case in your experiences?
