Why is 33 inch flexwatt compared to 4 inch
Why is 3inch flexwatt so much hotter than 4 inch. It seems the three reads so much hotter than the thermostat should be asking for
Re: Why is 33 inch flexwatt compared to 4 inch
3" just runs hotter, it's how it was made. If you're hooking multiple pieces of flexwatt up to a single thermostat, it's a good idea to use the same width.
Re: Why is 33 inch flexwatt compared to 4 inch
it has to do with how many watts per foot the flexwatt is the 3 inch is 6 or 10 watt per foot whyle the 4 inch is 20 watts per foot...has to do with the amount of wattage per square inch more watts in a square inch the more heat you will have...
sorry for digging up a dead post

Correction 4" runs 8watts per foot. 11" runs 20watts per foot

sorry pulled #s from http://www.reptilebasics.com/4-flexwatt-heat-tape.html
guess i read the wrong size...but thats why the 3 inch could be hotter if you have the 10 watt over the 8 watt 4 inch...more watts per inch
