    she loves the gray mice
my bp was having trouble eating on time i changed to every 9 to10 days and she has eaten every time since. i accidentally got a medium gray mouse todaywith the regular small white mouse. she was suppose to get 2 small white but the store made a boo boo. so i tried the bigger gray and she slammed it quick. she didn't eat the other but i expected that. could she like the color or difference? I know she was scared od the medium whites

I have an A.T.B. who will not eat anything except white mice and he prefers females but he will eat males. So, yea, I think something is different.

I've had two separate ball python occasions where the BP was accustomed to a certain color, made a switch to a different color, and then the BP refused multiple times. Went back to the old color and BAM! Color blind my butt!!

I feed all colours since they are babies to prevent this. I never experienced this but lots of people have! Try black and white ones and see if they work then try black and so on and always mix it up!

Also be sure to note what they take. I keep records of the colour of the prey that my finicky eaters take. if you have one or two balls then this is not an issue, but once your collection grows it can be challenging to try and remember which snake took which colour mouse/rat.....

Quick question, is there an easy way to tell the difference between a rat and a mouse??? I just can't see the difference in them.

    Thanks.

Isn't it strange that rodent color can make a difference? I have a ball python who would only eat dark-colored rats when he was eating live. Now that I have him switched to frozen / thawed, though, he doesn't seem to care about the color and eats every time.

Any BP I have will tend to strike harder on white rats rather than darker ones.
