Almost the worst week of my life.....
Well to make a long story short I went to the doctors for an infected in-grown hair on my leg last Saturday. I was sent home with some antibiotic and was kind of mad that they didn't cut it open and drain it(I've had one before and that's what they had to do). Well I had to go back on Tuesday because my whole leg was swollen beyond belief. The admitted me to the Hospital for MRSA. Those of you who don't know what that is, it's the staph infection that people die from in the hospital. I just got out today after 5 days of IV antibiotics. I'm glad to be back at home and back chattin' with you guys. Not to mention, this whole thing took place during BREEDING SEASON!!! I didn't sleep wellto be honest. I also think I missed an Ovulation while I was gone. ARR!!

MRSA (methacylin resistant staph aureus) is no longer just a bug you get in the hospital. It is pretty much endemic in our society now. All those years of being over treated with antibiotics have left us with new and more dangerous bacteria. Luckily you had mrsa and not the flesh eating bacteria. It is wicked evil bad.

I'm definately glad it was just MRSA. It is still very painful and dangerous though.

My BF's uncle just had MRSA. He didn't get it in the hospital. He was in Hawaii and tripped, broke his fall with his hand and touched some old lava. Came back to Cali, went to the hospital cuz he too had an in grown hair, or what looked like one, and was told he had MRSA. They're not exactly sure that it came from that, but that's what they think. The locals told him not to touch the stuff.
Sorry you have it, it's a pretty scary thing! Glad you're out of the hospital!
