    Feeding
How many times a week do you guys feed your young western hogs? One of the care sheets I was reading recommended feeding ever 2-3 days because of their fast metabolism. Do you do this?

I just feed once a week, but every five or so days probably wouldn't hurt.

mine gets fed every 7 days or so, depending on his mood. when i tried to keep him on a 5 day schedule he went off feed for over a month. so now i wait at least a week in between feedings and he's been fine since.

I'm going to feed after defecation. I've done some reading and that sounds very reasonable. They eat pretty frequently in the wild because they have such a fast metabolism.

I feed my younger hogs no less than every 3 days... Sometimes every two days depending on the size of the prey item offered at the previous feed...

I prefer to feed small items every 3 days or so.

My male extreme albino is like that, too. I finally gave up on getting him on unscented. Now I set aside a bag of mice just for him, and dump tuna juice in it before tossing it in the freezer. Makes the whole scenting process much less annoying than doing it every week just for the one snake.
