    File Server - Sol
For those geeks out there (and I know there are a few), this is my newest project.

Had this computer for a while. Bought a new case for it (paid $30) and some new HDDs .. making a file server. His name is Sol. He's packing an AMD 3700+ and 1.5 gigs of RAM.

Currently 2TB of storage, with space for another 3 HDDs (well, more than that, but anything above that and I need more power. I already need more SATA ports.)

    This is how I roll.

This is the case I bought.

I got it for $30, free shipping at Newegg. I like it better in person. The front really isn't to my taste, but for $30 it's awesome, and it serves all my needs internally perfectly.

Looks sexy. I've been meaning to build a computer for that exact purpose. I just need to get off my butt and do it.

Wow that's a ton of hard drive space. I build computers occasionally, but recentely have only been using my laptop. I bought an Alienware m17x, and love it.

I just ordered a PCI SATA card, which will add 2 more SATA 2.0 ports. I will need another if I get beyond 5 HDDs, but for now this will last me some time. I am thinking of buying 2 2TB drives, putting them in a RAID 1 so all the infor on those are safe for sure, and the rest is just the replaceable crap and extra storage.

It is running Windows XP (in case anyone wanted to know) and after I have everything fully setup, I will remove the monitor it is on, and just run power and network to it, and put it under my desk. I am loving it already ... :)
