Setting up rack questions

I am taking my snakes out of tanks and putting them in a smaller rack.. maybe with 4 or 5 shelves on it. I have a Ranco thermostat, would that be ok for that many shelves? I have only used it for one UTH.

Also I am looking at pictures of people's rack and I dont see hides in the tubs. Do you not use/need them in a tub? If you do need hides what are suitable hides for tubs?

Rancos can control 1500 watts of heating.

I have 3 Johnsons controlling 50 shelves of flexwatt.
