Snake strangle
So I was taking my 6 month BP out his cage today. I placed him around my neck and he crawled around like usual. I walked into another room and was standing in a mirror. After a while he began to wrap around my neck and what seem to squeeze. This happened again, and went harder. Is this a display of dominance or being scared, or actually trying to take me down?

Re: Snake strangle
I have to admit, I chuckled at the word dominance...
It's their way of making sure they don't fall. They're high off the ground, and I'm sure they can see that. They do get tight around your neck, if he gets too tight just try giving him some support. I love it when Snickets gets tight around my neck. That way when she moves, it feels like a massage!
I can just imagine her saying "Oh mom, thanks for feeding me, cleaning my pee and poop, and giving me this wonderful home! Here's your massage to show how much I care!!"

Re: Snake strangle
Maybe someone will jump in and correct me but... could be three things..
1. Your neck is warm and feels sooo good to your snake
2. Snake feels insecure like s/he might fall and is holding on for safety
3. Hugs are fun!
My snake has squeezed my neck a few times, and I truly believe he doesn't realize what he's doing. Hes never been aggressive while squeezing, just acting like a happy snake giving me a hug. I just gently unwind him, and he's fine.
I wouldn't worry about it :)

I disagree, I think he was trying to make a meal out of you, LOL. I agree with everyone

Re: Snake strangle
You better watch it. You've got a killer ball on your hands (or neck). You need to ship it to me immediately for your own safety.

Re: Snake strangle
 All of your responses are hilarious!! Elizabeth LOVES to be around my sons neck....I think she prefers it there to anywhere else. And just my son...not any of us. She curls around and links her tail over her neck and just hangs out. Maybe she was trying to link her tail but because she is smaller she had to squeeze tighter. ;)
Or.....she could be trying to eat you!! lol :weirdface
