TINY breeding program--what would you choose?
Right now I've got an ~1000g female, and I'd like to look toward having a small breeding setup. What would be your choice for another few snakes to produce a wide variety of morphs with minimal numbers. I'd also rather stay toward the less expensive side of things...
Right now my eyes will be peeled for a bumble bee male and a pastel female. These combined with my norm female I think would give me some fun morphs. Any other suggestions? What would you choose? Bear in mind, I'll likely keep these snakes for pets, so upgrading beyond a few snakes is somewhat unlikely...
Re: TINY breeding program--what would you choose?
I think you have the right idea already. I was gonna suggest a bee also. It all depends on what you are a fan of. A lemon blast male would be cool too if you are a fan of pins. all a matter of prefernce but any co-doms would give you a few morphs to play with depending on what you like
Re: TINY breeding program--what would you choose?
Definitely a matter of preference. But keep in mind that Pastel female, if bought as a hatchling, will take a couple years to be within breeding range.
Any double co-dom male would be good, depending on what you like, most are below the $1000 range. Pastaves, Pewters, Bee's, Blasts, etc etc. will all reproduce themselves when bred to your normal.
To make it a bit more interesting, what I would do is buy your double co-dom male for your current normal female (when shes at least 1300 grams) and then buy a young double co-dom female and grow her up. Quadruple co-dom in a couple of years (depending on what you get). :)
