Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
Sometimes old threads are worth reviving.
It's not common enough to be a problem.
Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
I personally enjoy goin trough old threads and bringing up what a driffence the commnuity has changed and the methods of husbandry. IMO its a way to remind us of how far we have come....

Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
There are many problems and scenarios that get asked and played out over and over and over again. The whole point of the site is to have years of reference material availible to those who need it. Yes sometimes people dont check the date and resurrect old posts but the reality is there is far more good that can come from old posts than the minor inconvience of accidently resserrecting one.
I have done it myself, now I look at dates.

I agree. It is weird to be reading something you think is current then later realize it's a year or two old. However, I think the benefits of having lots of reference threads outweigh any small inconveniences. Sometimes it's nice to get updated on old threads too. Especially to find out how animals have grown or healed, etc.
Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
There's plenty of people new to the site (such as myself) that still have a lot to gain from these old threads. Revive 'um!
Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
I think some educated discretion should be taken when deciding if a post is worthy of being bumped.. Some are worthwhile, while many others are only being bumped to cause un-needed debate and argument.
Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
I like it when old threads are bumped. If it's something that's going to cause a heated debate that will never end then it's pretty pointless. But those ones aren't bumped too often, and it's pretty easy to ignore them.
I find that since people who have been keeping snakes for 20+ years are still learning, I don't mind reading a 2-3 year old thread that is loaded with information. Snakes are my passion, and I love to read and learn about them as much as I can. I know alot of people on this website also share that view.
Re: Resurrecting Old Posts
I enjoy reading some of the older threads that happen to be resurrected. The whole purpose of a forum is to learn from others and some of those old threads have some usefully information.
Before reading a thread I always look at the date above the users avatar to see when they posted the comment. This is one way to see when it was posted.
