Which is the best Energy Efficient Heater???
I have a very cold basement about 66 degrees and im trying to get a heater but my mother who is a tight was is worried it is going to jack up the electric bill. I was wondering if you guys knew of any decent heaters that arnt going to break my pocket and are going to be the best energy efficient product thanks alot.
Re: Which is the best Energy Efficient Heater???
after looking into it, really wattage = heat output, people love oil filled heaters on here, but personally I don't see the need for em. but there no way getting around your gonna be draw a desent amount of power to get a desent amount of heat.
you got any heater vents open in your basement? most people keep em closed, mayb just open them.
natural gas is cheaper than electric for me.

I use an oil filled radiator heater. it has a low setting that only draws 700w where as the high setting draws 1500w either way even if its on constantly it will probably only run about an extra $20-30 dollars a month. just offer to pay the difference if you can or offer to work it off in household work. honostly you only need to heat it up about 15 degrees so I would say that shouldnt take too much. also do whatever you can to insulate the basement from the cool air outside

The best thing is to hook it up to a ranco thermostat to achieve and maintain the desired temp.

T-stat on those heaters are not very reliable which is why it is best to have a ranco controlling it ;)
