    Which is the best Energy Efficient Heater???
    I have a very cold basement about 66 degrees and im trying to get a heater but my mother who is a tight was is worried it is going to jack up the electric bill. I was wondering if you guys knew of any decent heaters that arnt going to break my pocket and are going to be the best energy efficient product thanks alot.

    after looking into it, really wattage = heat output, people love oil filled heaters on here, but personally I don't see the need for em. but there no way getting around your gonna be draw a desent amount of power to get a desent amount of heat.

    you got any heater vents open in your basement? most people keep em closed, mayb just open them.

    natural gas is cheaper than electric for me.

    I use an oil filled radiator heater. it has a low setting that only draws 700w where as the high setting draws 1500w either way even if its on constantly it will probably only run about an extra $20-30 dollars a month. just offer to pay the difference if you can or offer to work it off in household work. honostly you only need to heat it up about 15 degrees so I would say that shouldnt take too much. also do whatever you can to insulate the basement from the cool air outside

    Cool does your oil have a temperature gauge shutoff to wear it reaches a certain heat and shuts off if so what is your model thanks

    The best thing is to hook it up to a ranco thermostat to achieve and maintain the desired temp.

    Plug the heater in a ranco T-stat (seperate one)

    OOOO i didnt think about that but i guess if you think about it a ranco cost what 79.99 i can prolly find a heater that is bother temp controlled and cost in that price right?? i mean im guessing but im sure you can find one

    T-stat on those heaters are not very reliable which is why it is best to have a ranco controlling it ;)
