    Hi,

I stick to one small rat every 7 days and my snakes do fine.

What weight do you mean when you say small rats though?

    Hi,

That's about the weight I feed mine once a week. :)

I generally use ones between 45-65g as that's the size my supplier sells as "small rats"

i usually try to feed one that is 15-20% of her weight so ill feed as many as it takes to reach that. i was just curious what other people do.

I was feeding my male 2 rat pups(25-30 grams) every 5 days but I started feeding one small rat(80-90 grams). I feed 2 rats when they are inbetween sizes!

I don't think we need to be too concerned about the prey our snakes eat other than trying to feed too large of a rat/mouse. In the wild, they eat what comes along. Today, they'll eat a 20 gram rat, next week, they'll eat a 60 gram rat. As long as the snake is eating,

If the pet shop doesn't have the size you usually feed, then drop down a size. Feed one or 2, it doesn't matter.
