    Firefly vs Vanilla Pastel
Does the Vanilla Pastel retain its colors and get better with age like the Firefly? Does anyone have pics of an adult Vanilla Pastel?

I have both, one is an 06 Sulfur Pastel, one is an 08 Pastel Vanilla. The Pastel Vanilla is brighter than a normal Pastel as an adult, but still is browning out some. The Sulfur Pastel is still very bright, with brown speckles, not really browned out as much. The Sulfur Pastel is in the blue, I will try and take a side by side pic once he sheds.

I think the firefly would probably appear brighter because of the higher contrast in the black. The vanilla is more of a softer/cleaner look, where the fire has more contrast...harsh blushing, etc.

I like both, but I'm planning to combine all three genes (pastel/vanilla/fire), so I didn't need to buy both. The decision was pretty easy for me...pastel vanillas cost half as much as fireflies, look very similar, and they have the distinct advantage of being able to make super vanilla pastels

But again, it's not like I'm choosing one over the other...I already have a few female fires, so I'll be trying to make fire vanilla pastels as soon as possible. And I don't exactly see myself selling any female fireflies. lol

Please do post pics of the sulfur pastel. I have a male super vanilla and I'm thinking about picking up a sulfer female or two...see if the combo looks any different than the vanilla x fire.
