Check the eyes to make sure both look good, clear vent, no obvious kinks in tail/spine, doesn't look emaciated.

That's what comes to mind atm

Yeah, no poop or anything else smeared/encrusted there. You just want the vent to look normal lol

That just sounds so wierd >_<

also look at there stomach to see if they are thin or look like they are stressed an not eating. Ask the seller questions when was it born what are you feeding it any issues with it? The basic's to get a feel for the seller and to see if he is just trying to sell the gecko or involved an knows the details and what is important and ask to hold it see if it is calm in your hands or finky.

^What they said. :gj: It should be alert, but it shouldn't seem overly stressed. Any mucous around the eyes, nose, mouth, or vent is a red flag. Also check for mites. While they aren't as common in geckos as they are in snakes, they can get these little red ones in the folds of their skin. Speaking of which, there shouldn't be any wrinkles in his belly. You want a nice and plump guy, but not a fat one.

Ask the vendor whatever comes to mind. Interrogate him/her. If there is any hesitation in an answer, think twice about who you're buying from.

    Good luck!
