    Animal Plastics lighting
Hey folks. We are having a slight issue with our boids and the lights on our Animal Plastics cages. We have a 5 high stack of cages-- 2' x 4' and 2' x 2' cubes-- with the slide in style "kitchen" lights inside of the cage. They mount to the top of the cage with two small screws. No matter how hard I jam them over to "lock" them in place, that snakes are finding ways to pull them down. It's not a big deal, really, other than it looks bad until I can put them back up, but I'd love to find a way to fix it so this doesn't happen. Has anyone else had this issue? I can't figure out what the snakes are doing to make the lights fall down. Silly animals!

I never had a problem with the lights in those cages.

I ended up taking em out because they heated the cages up too much.

I'd think about putting like a "stop screw" in them.

Drill a pilot hole inside the light under the bulb. Slide the light into place and tighten the 2 screws down holding it in place.

Then put 1 more in that stop screw hole into the top of the cage.

    That'd do it:D

I think that is a GREAT idea! Then they wouldn't be able to slide them out no matter what! Thanks!

    No problem!

You may even put 2 in it just to be safe.

That way you won't ever have to worry about it later on down the road:D

    Glad I could help

Yeah, the only real issue with it was that a yearling size boid can easily slip out the hole for the lights plug, as I found out when my angry and aggressive yearling hog island made it out the hole and over to the rodent rack while I was cleaning it. I almost peed my pants!
