Roof cave-in ... at work

I work in a factory. This factory has a roof ... and that roof didn't hold well under a 4-foot pile of snow.

Here is what I saw this morning. I ask that you excuse the mess, a lot of stuff had to be moved to get it out of that area .. in not much time.

That shelf in the middle is holding up the roof from falling any further.

You can see the snow on the other side of the fall. See all the lines we had running along the roof? Those are air and water, gas, electric and networking lines. Yeah, that's fun.

Tarp that was hung to keep the cold air from reaching the rest of the factory, and I guess keep people out.

View from outside. It collapsed right by the tank of liquid O2. That was close.

The bowing and eventual collapse actually broke water lines and 3/4s of the factory was under some water.

Wow...I hope no one was in there. Holy toledo...that is crazy!

Y'all are so lucky it didn't rupture that LOX tank or lines. That would have been disasterous...

It happened during our Christmas break, so no one was in the building. It actually was the fire dept that found it because it was bowing enough to set off the alarms, and since it was during a blizzard no one could get to it right away.

That is just a tiny chunk of the whole factory, so no one will be out of work for any amount of time. We moved that area's useage to another spot and kept going.

Yeah, that would have been. The lines are very close to where it broke so .. yeah.
