Check your local pet store. They usually have moss.

I try to support local mom and pop pet stores but if they don't have it, You might be able to find a bag of it at a big store like petsmart.

We sell this for $7.00 put it in water and it expands.

    Exo-Terra Forest Moss

Completely natural forest moss (no dyes or chemicals)

Ideal for amphibians and wetland environment reptiles

Great for use in humidifying shelters

Excellent for use in egg-laying and incubation medium

Exo Terra Forest Moss is real compressed moss grown in tropical Asia. This ecological substrate is ideal for increasing humidity in the terrarium and is totally safe for frogs, salamanders and burrowing or digging animals. The Exo Terra Forest Moss is extremely absorbent and is recommended in humidifying shelters such as the Exo Terra snake Cave or Reptile Cave. It is also an ideal egg-laying or incubation medium

Any issues with having unwanted critters in that moss? Just curious.

    Thanks!

I was given this tip for buying moss from someone on this site - go to:

    http://www.tropicalplantproducts.com/ContactUs.aspx

They are in Florida and will ship you a kilo of it - it lasts a long time and is clean/free of bugs.

    Regards,

Good idea. Many will sell a few different varieties. Watch out for fertilizers or other chemicals added to the stuff sold at nurseries and garden centers.

sphagnum moss is easy to find at any orchid/tropical/carnivorous plant nurseries. Californiacarnivores.com sells very large bales of sphagnum for ~$15. :)

Moss is great at holding himidity, it is also great at attracting fungus gnats and phorid flies, they are harmless but super annoying. Fair warning
