4 foot or bigger RTB with tongs

i've seen the feeding response, of RTBs and is it smart to have to feed a bigger boa with them, im guessing no, but what do you call the bigger feeding devices, that looks like a big clamp.

You can get pretty long hemostats. I got mine at the scales and tails reptile shop in Co. Springs. Check your reptile stores, or check online for the best price. I think you can get them as long at like 24 inches.

Look at kitchen equipment, plenty of bigger grabbers there. I personally use small hemostats for small feeders and my big needlenose pliers that I have for musky fishing when I feed big feeders (lg rats and bigger).

Some people who do lots of field herping may have a "snake grabber". Those work just fine as feeding tongs, if pricey for only feeding purposes.

Once you feed things the size of big rabbits, grabbers really aren't feasible, at least from my personal experience with feeders over 5lbs.

thanx to all and southern, thats exactly what im talking about, but not at that price lol, i've seen some platic one at wallworld and big lots for 10 bucks are those good, i dont have any big pliers, i think my dad might or i could go down the kitchen isle at the store. thank ya
ll again not to sound like a chicken but i wouldn't want to get pegged by a boa with my 8 inch tongs

I have never used anything to hold of offer prey to larger snakes. If prey if offered properly to the snake they will strike the prey on target every time.

Never have i fed any of my boas from hemostats, all have been by hand.

Yea I have 2 7ft. RTBs and Honestly I've held a f/t small rat over by him wiggled it a little and he came up kinda stiked for it but not as bad as live, but I did this cause I was desperate for him to eat and had no live left, also I trust him and I know when not to eff with him.

Better safe than sorry, these animals can still mistake your hand for food and a big boa getting hold of a hand/arm would not be pretty. Hemostats are what $25 from a good online store? I'll take that insurance policy.
