    Accurite Thermometer Question? Important!
Question: Does it go between the UTH and the tank or on top of the substrate?

    Thank you

i check for temps in the tub below the substrate, that way i know the highest temp that they can come in contact with.

I placed my thermostat probe on the out side underneath tank hot glued directly to the UTH. My Accurite probe I hot glued to the glass tank directly over the UTH which then has aspen place on top of it and his hot side hide directly over this.

Getting your temps dead on takes some tweaking, I highly recommend an infrared temp gun.

I have is a photo to help..

I use an IR thermometer to check temps of the hot spot inside the cage. I use a probeless accurite thermometer for ambient temps/humidity.

I use a thermostat to control temps, and with the THERMOSTAT's probe, I put it directly on the heat source using UTHs or flexwatt.

If you aren't using a thermostat (in which case you'd BETTER at least be using a lamp dimmer to control your UTH), then I assume you're using a tank setup. You can use an IR gun to check the temp of the UTH assuming it's on a standard iron stand. The accurite can be used to check substrate temps or ambient air temps.

i kinda do it like mainbutter, the acurite probe is on the actual UTh, and I have a dimmer to control temps, then one with no probe for ambiant/humidity
