I might be trying Maternal Incubation..
Last year before we moved, I casually paired my female with my male Spider. I didn't really think much of it..
Now she is showing signs of being eggy. :) She's getting very light, and is taking on the shape that I associate with eggers being in there. She's usually a voracious eater, but did not eat the last time that I offered her prey.
I no longer have my incubator, and I am thinking of just letting her incubate maternally. Any ideas on this? If you've ever done this, please advise me if you will.

too hard on the female & will probly lose the eggs They will dry out. Just make a quik bator.I would never do it myself.
Re: I might be trying Maternal Incubation..
Yeah you'd be a whole lot better off just putting the eggs in a Hova Bator of something else to keep them warm. Way too many factors come into play when you do Maternal Incubation.
Re: I might be trying Maternal Incubation..
there are some do it yourself incubator threads on here. I know that money is tight right now for you but check out some of threads and see if you can do it cheap.
I also remember someone on here did a maternal incubation...(cant think of who that is right now) but maybe do a search and talk to them.
Good luck to you....
I have an extra cooler if that would help I would be willing to send it to you. I know that some have made an incubator out of those. Let me know!
Re: I might be trying Maternal Incubation..
MI is a perfectly legit way to incubate eggs.
I'm going to try it out for myself someday, I'm hoping to keep an eye on your progress, I hope it turns out well!!

This is a very good thread on the pros and cons of Maternal Incubation. I found it very informative, it just takes a while to read through it all.
