Tough Decision: ATB, Hogg Island Boa, or Coastal Carpet Python..
I was recently presented with an option to pick one of 3 snakes. An Amazon Tree Boa, Hogg Island Boa, or a Coastal Carpet Python. I cant decide. What are your guys/gals thoughts?
Re: Tough Decision: ATB, Hogg Island Boa, or Coastal Carpet Python..
I guess it would depend on things like sex, temperment, size. I live in a horribly dry climate and I do have two atb's but they take some work here. They are great snakes to watch and I hear if you get them young and socialized they can be pretty handle-able.

Coastal carpet all the way!
They get large enough to be impressive, they're handleable, and every bit as easy to care for as you could ask.
Of course, I'm a little biased.

Coastal carpet. I absolutely love mine, just a great snake. My ATB is great too though, just don't mess with her.

Very different animals. ATB for display, but not as likely to be handled much. Carpet for size, display and interaction if handled regularly. Hog for a nice small sized Boa, kinda like a big Ball Python with a Boa temperment.

Personally id go for the Hoggie. Love their personalities and size. Either one you choose you wont be disappointed.

Coastal. My big female is (aside from my Dumerils) my favorite snake of all time. She's 7.5ft, and as docile as they come. Very easy to keep.

I'd go with the Hogg. My girl is just over 6 feet and really friendly. Love her roaming curiosity whenever I have her out too. Just a pain to get her back in the cage lol.
