How long do sheds stay "fresh?"
Kind of a random question, but my mojo & normal (Mona) both shed tonight, and also ate big meals. I've been wanting to introduce them for breeding, and know that a fresh shed can stimulate his interest... but since they need to digest, will it be too dried up by the time I put the boy in? Thinking maybe I'd give them 24hrs after eating, instead of the usual 48 - but would that possibly cause regurgitation if they start locking? TIA for any input! ;)

One the shed dries its no longer fresh per say but you can wet it a lil bit to help give more odors.
Re: How long do sheds stay "fresh?"
So I'm guessing one day maximum?? Darnit.
Re: How long do sheds stay "fresh?"
Dont throw it away, keep the males in a zip loc bag with little moisture till you need it and then toss in with the breeding pair.
Re: How long do sheds stay "fresh?"
Oops, I just threw his away, but it's retrievable... ;) I'm actually more worried about him being interested (he's a virgin, she's proven), so shouldn't I save HER shed instead?

You want the shed of another mature males not female.

Ah, gotcha... in that case, I'll have to wait for Toby to shed! :D He actually just turned opaque, so I will use his next shed to excite Julius.

I just mist the shed when I need to use it.
