how many females can one male breed?
Ok I am going to be breeding a female pastel and a female fire with my male fire next year. I am wondering how many females he can breed. He will be about a year and a half old. I am thinking about getting another female if he can breed three. what is everyone's opinion?
Re: how many females can one male breed?
Most people will breed a male to 5-6 females, but when you have an ultrasound machine(which we do) people have gone up to 15 females per male. This season we are breeding a male to 8 females but that is because of the ultrasound. So far most of the females he has been with have follicles. Most of our males will be breeding around 6 females though.
Hope this helps!:gj:

He can breed as many as possible... just make sure he doesnt get too skinny/worn out. breeding takes alot out of males as well, especially if they go off feed as they sometimes do. Generally 6-8 or so is a good number to go with.

my male fire has bred his 6 females already multible times, still eating & going strong .as for fire or pastel breed him to both of them.Mine has been breeding & then getting backed up with a Bumble bee.Fireflys & bee combos are very desirable now so its a good pairing.
