    Shipping
This will be my first season that I hope to produce snakes that I will actually sell online. I don't have a website yet but hope to soon. (I have one on Freewebs though). So other than a website, I need to be able to ship. With Ship Your Reptiles, how exactly does it work? I want to get certified to ship, but is using shipyourreptiles.com easier? It seems easier and less expensive than doing it yourself.

Simply go on ShipYourReptiles.com watch the videos, register and whenever you are ready to ship book your shipment and drop of your package at a UPS location. It's that simple.

With fedex you need to go through the certification process first to be able to ship http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...=certification

So I still need to be certified to ship even if I'm using SYR? And I thought they used UPS?

Ok. I really want to get certified on my own, but for this season it would just be easier to go through SYR. I found their video on how it works. :) I just order the kits from them, they are delivered, I pack the reptile properly and bring the box to a UPS location with a prepaid label. Sounds easy enough. Now, for a baby ball python, you would use kit #2 or #3?

I like being Fedex certified for what it's worth.

Granted both services are great, and each company has it's own "followers"....

I just think when someone sees that you went through the "Fedex Certification process, it shows to them that you know what your doing. That in turn can help sales IMO.

If someone is Certified and also ships SYR than that's cool with me, but if their only using SYR I honestly try to avoid it.

    Just my $0.02:salute:

But what makes me any less of a good breeder if I'm not certified? I plan on getting certified for next season. I'm just going to use SYR this season.

    Re: Shipping
    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I'm just saying as someone who has shipped in the past and received my share of shipments....

That if I plan on buying from someone who isn't well known, I would prefer them to be Fedex Certified.

That doesn't mean they have to use Fedex to ship it out, they can use SYR if they want.

It just makes me feel good about the shipment knowing that they know what their doing and have gone through Fedex's Package Testing and Development process to prove it.

You can probably get Certified by the time your needing/wanting to ship out babies if you care to go through the process. It doesn't take that long.
