    keeping boa & python...
hi, is it true that you should not keep boa & python in the same room? i've read before that boa can be a carrier of ibd without doing any harm on them, do anyone here keep pythons & boa at the same room? thanks in advance :)

You can keep any species of snakes in the same room. If you're worried about spreading anything between snakes just wash your hands between handling each snake.

Ibd is transmited in the form of nasal and oral secretions as far as we know, however there still is very little known about the pathology of the virus. I would not risk it even though they probrably would never have contact.

Since wanting to get into boas, I ONLY purchase boas from breeders or keepers who also have ball pythons and have had both species for at least 6 months, longer if possible, and have not taken any new animals in. It really helps me with the IBD issue since ball pythons don't survive exposure longer than 30 days.
