    Best substrate for humidity?
I live in Pennsylvania, so it is very cold and dry here in the winter. My bp is in a 40 gallon tank that has a heat pad, 200 watts of light running during the day and 100 watts at night. Ive tried aspen and its better than news paper, but im still only getting like 30 percent or so. He does have a humid moss hide and a HUGE water bowl in his cage. I know the lights aren't ideal, but Ive got no choice. What do you guys recommend? I am out of Aspen anyway, so its time for a change.

Cypress mulch, and sphagnum moss mix:gj:! Ace hardware carries sphagnum moss in a big bag for about 3 bucks. So dont buy it from petco etc.. Anyway, if you mix the two together it keeps the enclosure nice and humid.

Coconut Fiber that thing would increase your humidity like WoW all you have to do is give it a spray with water

I like to use the coconut too. It is really dusty BEFORE you soak it in water, so be careful if you use it. I find most can keep better humidity in the tank if they just use an UTH. It's when an overhead heat source is used, will it dry out the enclosure.

I actually know alot about coco fiber because I have hermit crabs and use it for them. I am worried about using that because I have a feeling it might cause scale rot.
