    Will he be okay?
When I woke up this morning, the air temperature in my bp's tank was nearly 100 degrees. My parents had turned up the heat in the house after I went to bed. Along with a UTH, I use an infra-red heat lamp. Do you think he'll be fine? He seems to be acting normal. I normally keep the air temp 85 - 90 degrees; does that sound like a good range?

Keep an eye on him, an air temp of 100 is pretty high, you run risk of neurological damage.

When I had a few Ball Pythons, I kept em at an ambient air temp of roughly 82 to 84 degrees, with the hot spot at 92 to 94, and they were thriving.

    Hi,

Does that mean you don't use thermostats for the heaters?

If so you should definately keep an eye on him because an ambient temp of 100 could mean a really high hot spot temp. :(

I have the UTH attached to a thermostat and the heat light attached to a dimmer. It's been over four hours, and he still seems to be fine. Do thermostats work with heat lights?

    Hi,

Proportional thermostats work fine with heat lights - just avoid the on/off or proportional types as the blinking shortens the life of the bulb considerably as well as driving you insane. :gj:

But it's a great thing your UTH was on the thermostat as that was my main worry. :salute:

As 2kdime said I would keep the ambients around 80-82f.
