Re: Het pied + het pied %%
Basic punnet square tell us that you get
1:4 Pied (25%)
1:2 Het Pied (50%)
1:4 Normals (25%)
since the normals and hets will look the same they are called 66% poss hets..
Re: Het pied + het pied %%
Keep in mind that these %'s are per egg. So out of 4 eggs you could end up with 4 normals or 4 pieds.
Re: Het pied + het pied %%
Actually wouldn't it be 4 66% Poss hets or 4 pieds?
Re: Het pied + het pied %%
Each egg can be normal, 66% poss het, or Pied. Therefore yes you could have all normals, or all 66% pos hets or all Pieds. But more than likely it will be some combination of those.

Well it could be all hets or all normals. The normal looking snakes are labled 66% hets because you can't tell the difference. In reality there is no such thing as 66% Het, they are either 100% het or normal. I was just noting that it could be all normals. When someone new reads about het X het breeding they could easily get confused and think they are guarenteed to get a visual.

True.... I guess a more accurate statement would be anything from that pairing that looks normal is a possible het until proven or dis-proven.

Nope, you would have 100% hets....and normals, but you can't tell for sure which ones they are. BG knows what you're trying to say though.
