    a question about rbi racks
    im not quite sure which rack to get

    im stuck between

    i like the mcbs rack but i also like the sweaterbox... which one is better in the long run?

    thats the one i was leaning towards just because of the tub space.. i just wanted one that was taller. but im dead set on rbi so ill just end up going with the sweater box.

    You can always get the dividers for the sweaterbox so it can also be used to house younger snakes, and then take the dividers out when they get bigger. :gj:

    I dont know if I am the only one with this problem, but I have both types of the RBI racks and I have a johnsons thermostat. When I put the thermostat on the MCS rack I kept the temp in the rack on the hot spot around 90 degrees. I now have two tubs that have holes in the bottom of them. So we replaced the heat tape and tried again and the same thing happen. With the sweater box rack I have a temp difference of 8 degrees between the top and the bottom tubs on the rack.

    I have found that the top box has a lower temp than the rest. This is due to the fact that all the lower boxes have heat coming from above AND below.

    So I tend not to use the top slot unless I have to. The difference is only a few degrees so its not a huge deal for me.

    With back heat this doesnt really pose as much of a problem, but I am a bigger fan of belly heat for my pythons anyway.
