breeding and digestion

i was wondering what peoples opinions and experiences are on pairing up balls during their two day digestion period. seems like every storm we are getting so far falls during this time. so far i haven't bothered to try since i don't like to disturb them during this time however i was speaking with a friend of mine who sais he does it successfully. any info on this topic would be much appreciated. thank you.

Hi,

I use an online weather site to see if there are any big low pressure fronts coming in for 48 -72 hours+

If I see a nice low pressure front due to land I don't mind making them wait a couple of days for lunch. :D

If they have a good 48 hours before any fronts come in they get fed as planned. :gj:

And to double check I have a small barometer hanging on the front of the rack and give it a tap on the off chance the site was wrong. :P

I frequently breed females that ate 48 hours prior to the introduction of a male. I have in the past done introductions after only 24 hours. However, last year near the beginning of the season, I introduced a very aggresive breeding male to a females cage about 18 hours after she ate. During his aggressive courting, he caused the female to regurgitate her meal, and I have since gone back to a strict 48 hour digestive period.

I have an agrresive breeder male as well so I know not to put him in with a freshley fed female for atleast 48 hrs as well. But some of my smooth love makers I sometimes intro them after about 24 hrs or so. Haven't had any problems with that regimen so far. Not to say it will never happen but. Everyone has there own way to do things and most ppl will tell you that you have to experiment with what works best for you.
