ok so its feeding time here and i fed my lil girl a rat pup. once she started moving and flicking her tongue i offered the 2nd one. she hit it right away and coiled up. she held it in her mouth for almost an hour. she eventually swallowed it easily n went to sleep. any ideas y? shes eaten 2 for a while now easily.

I think everyone's system slows down a bit this time of year. Maybe snakes do too. If it continues to happen or she stops eating you might begin to wonder about some intestinal parasite. If your really worried, collect her next stool and take it in to have it looked at.

When I switched my girl to small rats, she started to "play" with her food a little bit. Since you're feeding two rat pups, I'm assuming they're in the same range of weight. It might be nothing, but like singingtothewheat said, if you're worried take her to the vet and get her checked out.

I would say get her on weaners..rat pups are tiny..my albino started on ex breeder mice at just over 100g, she's 450g + 2 months later :)

I don't think there's any problem, I think the snake's digestive system was doing what it does and I'd say everything is okay. You may want to consider going to a larger size prey if this continues. Maybe a llittle less stress on the snake eating just one item at each feeding.
