Our Hairless boy
I got this guy a while back for my wife Laurie and she just loves him.
His name is Ren (from Ren and Stimpy) and although he is ugly he makes up for it with a great personality. She thinks he is so ugly he is cute. He cant live outside in my greenhouse with the other rats because it gets too cold for his nakedness so his stinky butt lives in my office with two normal girlfriends(Maybe we should call him Tiger:D). Anyway here's Ren.

Re: Our Hairless boy
hah Raul... I have 4 of them. They are so sweet. I know you think they are stinky rotters... but there is a special heaven for hairless rats. :)
I am a big fan of the hairless... I think yours is a double rex? He has the hair on his face still. We have the double rex's and the recessives.
Bruce
PS: He is a sessy rat.

Bruce I'm not familiar with the different types:confused:
Whats a double rex? Yeah I make fun of their stink but I still have a special place in my heart for the stinky devils. He is very sweet and luckily for him he will never be snake food. I try not to get too attached to my rats since I feed off about 70 of them a week but I still spoil them and treat them with the care and respect all living things deserve. I was under the impression that they are all recessive. I dont know much about them. I was told the females don't lactate so they cant feed their babies, is that true? Would love to pick your brain about them. My wife treats our rats better than our dog, LOL. This guy just loves to come out and visit with her, he is about as friendly as they get. I guess when you are that ugly you need to kiss some serious butt!

Re: Our Hairless boy
The rex gene is co-dom with double rex as super. A rex has curly fur and wiskers while the double rex can have varying degrees of fur (or the lack of).
He looks more like a double rex to me, but you will know for sure after a litter if little rex pups are produced or not.

Re: Our Hairless boy
The rex gene causes the whiskers to curl forward like that. I would agree with everyone else that he is double rex.

Re: Our Hairless boy
Does being double rex mean being double ugly.
That is still one of the ugliest rats I've ever seen. Seriously.
I may have to get some of his babies from you....
