Do BP's drool?!?!?!

I had my normal out today and as I was holding him he had drops of saliva ( lack of a better term) comin out the side of his mouth just on the left side.. not sure if maybe he had taken a drink before I took him out.. anyone ever see this or know if maybe BP's do drool.. thank you in advance

If your BP is drooling it either means he has a RI, or he just got a drink of water. Look out for other signs of a RI - wheezing, "coughing", breathing with the mouth open.

Either water, RI, or maybe he was dreaming of a juicy rat dinner just before you picked him up. :rolleye2:

nope no wheexing at all, or breathing with his mouth open.. maybe it was water.. it was clear and did not smell like anything.. thank you for the advice i'll keep and eye on him, to make sure it was just water... thanks again

If you by any chance can take a sample of the 'drool' - then rub a sample of it between your fingers.

If it feels sticky then your animal is most likely to suffer from a RI.

if u hold him and he rubs his face on ur hand and u can feel the "drool" then its prolly an RI. watch for him yawning also to try and get air. when he yawns he will have extra "drool" in his mouth. i just finished treating for an RI. Not Fun! Good Luck

try opening the side of his lips alittle and see if he has any bubbles built up on the side.

I would suspect an R.I.

i suspect the beggining of an RI, but in another note, you smelled the drool lol

yes I smelled the "drool" .. at least i'm not like the Mountie from that show Due South, goin around tasting stuff.. LOL
