Frozen rat supplier question - The Mouse Factory

Hey Guys!

I have a frozen rat question. I usually get mine from my local mom and pop pet store but they are having trouble getting rats from their supplier. I think it is Big Cheese. Anyway, they have been nice enough to freeze from their live stock for me. Well, I found out they don't pre-kill them, they just put them in a container and freeze them. I hate that! That does not sound too humane. I know how miserable I am when I am freezing to death! Plus their stock isn't always consistent in size. The biggest they had recently besides adults were 10g fuzzies. That is too small! I figured I may as well buy online even if I do need to buy 25 at a time. I was thinking about ordering from The Mouse Factory. Is this a reputable place with good quality rats?? I only want the best for Penny!!

Once I found out about that, I would quit patronizing that pet store and I would tell them exactly why. And I would call the ASPCA. Seriously. I'm pretty sure this is illegal for a pet store to do - live freezing is not an ethically acceptable form of euthanasia. It's a painful way to die, despite beliefs to the contrary.

As far as The Mouse Factory goes, I can't help you there but I'm curious to hear what people say - I'd like to start buying my mice wholesale frozen too.

I know, right!! I was horrified when I found out. That is why I am researching alternate means. I don't use that pet store fr any other purposes other than snake food. I have 4 ready for me now that I feel like I need to go ahead and buy. Since those poor rats had to die like that I feel they should at least serve their purpose. I will not go back there again though!

I use The Mouse Factory as they are linked on my site as to who i use. All rodents come vacuumed sealed on meat trays. All rodents are clean and neatly laid out.

Highly Recommend them.

Personally I order from Rodent Pro but I've heard good things about TMF

I will be ordering from the Mouse Factory next month for some frozen rats for my female BP. I have heard nothing but positive comments from others about them.
