yeah thats her next door neighbor in the background on that last pic.

so i kinda got a little ingenious idea to get that cardboardto be a little home for her when i was using it as a divider in the tank to make life a little more secure for her. when i had it standing up she managed to find her way up and into it. also gave me the scare of a life time cause i though she had gotten out! so i figured id turn it on its side cover the top with aspen and place her original hide on top. and she LOVES IT! temps are great inside of it as well!

Cool idea with the cardboard, but thats gunna probably end up rotting, you may want to think of upgrading to a plastic version. Also you may want to not have a bottom on whatever you put in there when you do have to replace it, that way you have better access to your snake if you lift it up.

yeah i know about the rotting, darn cardboard. this is just a temporary thing. she just really loves how tight it is. the first sign of poo or pee in there and its out :P unfortunate for her but ima be looking to get something similar from home depot or something. can probably just get the top too some tubs and cut it to shape

Thats what I was thinking, too. Like a dark plastic tub top, cut in half, that'd work perfectly.

If you didn't want to construct anything, you could probly get away with using a magazine holder like these ones. Then just upgrade the size whenever she grows!

They might have cardboard inside the plastic though. You could find ones that are made out of just plastic.

It should be another week or two and you get the rack system right, bro?

Haha, that is a great idea. I wonder if you could coat the cardboard with some sort of plasticized stuff.... Herculiner Bed Liner rolls on and dries quick, and would give a cool waterproof textured surface.

ive been going to home depot and lowes and trying to find something similar. the only thing i can think of is going to office depot and finding those stackable things that teachers have on their desks for papers. but havent had any luck finding them.

I bet that would work... you're using aspen, which is usually "clumpy" enough to not just fall through the side slots.

this one is even better but good lord at the price. For that price you could buy this one which would look pretty cool in the tub:
