    Tom and Jerry action
well now that they are calling for some 14inches of snow out here on the prairie, the mice have moved inside. i was hoping that since i got snakes this year they would stay away. plaine and simple No. I evengot my BP tank on the floor and yesterday a mouse ran right up to it and stood right infront of my snake.... now im half tempted too uhh nevermind.

Don't feed wild animals to your snakes. Who knows what parasites they have in them. People feed captive bred feeders for a reason.

Also, if your supposed to be getting 14 inches of snow, and your BPs tank is on the floor, you might want to put it somewhere that's warmer. Unless you have heated floors, then that's fine. But I'm sure the floor is pretty cold.

From my experience, I don't think mice are very intelligent. I don't think they can really "smell" or sense snakes. I really don't think that the fact that you have snakes in cages would help in any way to keep mice out of your house. I'm sure your snakes can probably smell them -- might get them a little interested, but that's probably about it.

    Just my $0.02 --

I would be more concerned about having the tank on the floor. Houses can be drafty and the floor is probably the worst for drafts. It would make it very difficult to keep temps where they need to be. I would get the tank up onto a table of some sort.

Hav-A-Heart traps. They're cheap. Why kill it if you don't have to?
