Male goes crazy...

I recently bought a proven citrus ghost from a friend. He knows his way around the ladies (the snake) but when it comes to change over day, he goes ape on me. I put him in with a new girl tonight and he was all over the cage for about 10 min. (not 100% on the sex of the new "girl", was bought as a female, will probe tomorow night just to be sure..)
The ghost is also strikeing at me which is new. I am putting it as teen-age hormones but if this keeps up, I may not let him date for week or two..
Seriously, has this hppned to anyone else?What is a good corse of action for this way-ward male?

I have a male pastel who does this also. I just put him on time out for a day or so and re-introduce. It's kinda wierd, it's like he is combating her. I think he is just getting real excited. Hope it works out for you. Send me a PM and let me know if it works!

Since I've started pairing up, my male has been going NUTS between pairings.

MAke sure to double check the sex of that other "female"

Had that happen last year. Turned out the "female" I was sold was actually a male.

Alrighty. At least he's not too nuts. I had a talk with him, told him to go make babies and he turned his head (to follow the pen liht beam...) I will pull him out in the morning, re-check the sex for the new "girl". Mabey he's one of those males that need the females in his cage. It just keeps getting better every year...:rolleyes:

As long as you're talking to your snakes(crazy man...BG loves it), Big Gunns thinks maybe you should warn him that BG might be coming over for some discipline. That should straighten him out.:D

Double check the sex of the female like you said.:gj:

I fed the wild one, he didn't eat, no big suprise there. He was good all last night, no mood swings. I dropped a girl in with him tonight and there was a little thrashing but nothing like he was doing...so.... Either he likes to play in his own back yard or he is scared of Big Gunns..
(I don't get the being scared of BG though, I am an Infantry Marine GySgt... If I can't sit him down, no one can...):rage:
The other girl was a girl too...
