i'm worried...
Hello...I have my ball python for a month and a half now and everything is good,he is eating properly, the shed was very good(complete shed),and the snake looks healthy and happy:P.I have one problem tough...As I was saying I have had the snake for a month and a half, and during this time she took gasps of air when I was handling her, like when she re-puts her jaws into place after swallowing a mouse...It has happened 3 times and I am a bit worried...what could it be?:snake:

Re: i'm worried...
Sounds like a yawn.
Everybody - and everything - does it. (You should see what it looks like when a shark does it!)
Welcome to the forum, BTW!

Re: i'm worried...
Excessive yawning is a sign of respiratory infection starting. I would check the mouth for bubbles. It could just be yawning like the other post said all animals do it but if it does it alot it could be a problem.

Re: i'm worried...
if its only after the ball python eats, then that is normal. if its more often then that, then its not normal....

Re: i'm worried...
It could be just a yawn as well but just keep an eye on it. If it happens constantly then I would get it checked but I wouldn't worry about it 2 much

Re: i'm worried...
If it has only happened 3 times in a month and a half and the mouth looks clean I wouldnt worry about it. when the get RI some times they yawn alot like 3 times in a few minutes.
