Little whistle
My baby pastel whistles when he exhales. could it be because he's going to shed soon?
My humidity is at 60% and his temps are 70-80. I know it's a little low but I've been having trouble keeping them up since I've stopped using heat lamps.

Re: Little whistle
Hi,
Normally I would say yes it's probably just the shed but those temps are not just a little low. :(
It might be an idea to throw up a thread asking for tips on insulating the tank or something - but failing that go back to using a heat lamp if nothing works.
Low humidity is a pain but low temps lower the immune system and leave them vulnerable to infections.
You should be aiming for 80-82f on the cool end of the enclosure and 92-94f on the warm.
Anything below mid 70's is seriously asking for an RI. And probably also eating problems or regurges.

Re: Little whistle
I agree with Derek
Use the heat lamps if you have to, just cover the top or put a bigger bowl in to help with the humidity.

Re: Little whistle
Well lamps are back on.
Would facing the lamp at the foil on my screen lid still lower my humidity?

Re: Little whistle
Hi,
Probably not - but it probably wouldn't keep the temps high enough either. :(
