Hey. just wanted to know what you all think!!!???!!!??
in one of my other post i go on about my new lemon pastel trying to bite me.. that was about 2 weeks ago i think..
well ive held her 4 to 6 times in those 2 weeks.. each time on a diff day.. and only had her out for about 10 min.. mabye 15 on one of them..
she has not tried to bite me over the last two weeks.. she has also calmed down a LOT! but she is still very jumpy. now when i hold her she will start lookin around and tryin to go up my arm.. but if i make any sunden movements or go ANYWHERE!! by her head she will kinda spaz out .. but thats just like any head shy ballpython..
what i want to ask you all is when should i try to put her back on the ground again? the last time i put her on the ground (2 weeks ago) she freaked out after about 5 min and when i tried picking her up she tried biting me more then once (striked at me about 7-10 times if not more lost count)...
and when do you think it will be safe for other people to hold her? i don't want somebody else to get bit.. if i get bit i get bit... but if somebody else does like my sisters or friends that could be bad.. they could drop her or throw her with out thinkin about it... and i don't want any one else to get bit i would just feel bad lol..
thanks for you help!!!!!
Re: Hey. just wanted to know what you all think!!!???!!!??
I would just keep up with usual handling sessions like you are doing. If she is still a baby she will be jumpy and possibly bitey until she gets a little older. The bigger they are, the calmer they get.
You will know when it is okay for others to hold her.

my female butter was very fiesty when she was a little girl. she bit me on several occasions, never hurt or scared me cause ive grown up handling creatures that love to bite me, wild and captive. but after a month of taking her out periodically she got use to me. and she is now probably the tamest in my little collection. they do grow out of it unless they just got a horrible temper. alittle love and affection turns them around
