What kind of lizard?? small & black

Seriously ten points to any one who can figure out what kind of lizard this is for me.

My significant other apparently had a very rare lizard dropped off at his house by a friend as a child. (In alaska so it obviously native to here) He told him nothing about it, not how to care for it, not even what type it was. (how rude right?)

It was pure black, very small, and had definite scales that you could see individually like a snake's scales, and he said that it 'looked very much like a solely black miniature komodo dragon that fit in ones hand".

He said it refused crickets but ate cut up fruits. he said the head looked more like it belonged on an anole, but definately is not one. it sat very still when held except it did have the ability to run off fairly quickly. it was far too small to be a baby monitor of some sort. Unfortunately, he has no idea where it is native to or anything really definitive other than it was very small and he loved it very much.

the friend did come back to claim it by which time the family refused after becoming attached to it.

He also left another small lizard we are fairly certain is a desert spiny lizard.. if that helps?

But thats all I know about it for now.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Please please help as I am being drove :taz: up the walls by it....

Desert Spinytailed lizard have the ability turn pitch black, but pics would be needed to back up that statement:gj:

yes the other lizard sent to him was a desert spiny he is totally convinced they are not the same species. they do not have the same body type i guess?

I know the post is useless without pictures, but I dont currently have the lizard, and since I cant find any results that look like it on google images, and I dont know the name of the species, I havent got a clue how to find one either....

small black lizard just doesnt bring anything up...
