? Concerning Spiders

Ok...according to NERD I was in the 5th grade when Spiders were first produced....
Therefore, I am sure this has been discussed before, but I think I missed out:)

I am wondering why there hasn't been a Super Spider produced?
If you do the Punnet Squares, it clearly shows that there COULD be a Super...doesn't it? And with SO MANY people breeding Spiders in the last few years, I don't understand how one hasn't been produced....

Or are we just assuming that there are Super Spiders, and they just look like a regular Spider?

I am sorry if this makes me sound like a moron....just new to the idea of breeding/genetics of BP's....

The spider morph is dominant. Therefore no super form. There are debates and all that about the super form being lethal or look exactly like a regular old spider. If you do a quick search on this forum you'll find a good number a threads talking about the super spider.

Thanks man...like I said, I'm sure it has been discussed (argued) about for a while...I just missed out on alot of it due to being so young when Spider first were produced.

It's splitting hairs but some of us would say that IF spider is a homozygous lethal mutation then it would technically make spider a co-dominant mutation because there is a difference between the hets (the spiders) and the homozygous (dead). Twenty years after the founder was imported it does seem unlikely that homozygous spider is viable without us seeing one by now. I know I lost interest in breeding my spiders together and sold the male; maybe there just haven't been many spider X spider breedings.
