Ivy has got an RI- couple of questions
Well Ivy has a respiratory infection, most likely caused from her escaping and spending the night in my sorta cold room. I wasn't sure at first, she started having this popping sound in her lungs but now it is obvious with excessive bubbly saliva in her mouth. :(

I'll be calling a highly recommended herp vet monday( closed today and through the weekend). Hopefully I can get her in on monday, if not wednesday for sure.

In the 4 years I've been keeping bps this is my first time dealing with any sort of sickness so correct me if I'm wrong with what I'm doing in the meantime:

-I've raised her temps to 87-88*F overall
-Bumped up her humidity to around 65-70%

She ate happily wed., do I keep feeding her?

I am not looking forward to giving a 200g snake injections ....

Re: Ivy has got an RI- couple of questions
People can sometimes make the mistake of raising temps too much and cook their snake. Make sure they're correct, but don't raise them so it's too high.

Yes...keep feeding, if a snake has no nutrients it's only gonna get weaker. The fact that it's still eating is a good sign, you should have no problem getting her better. You do need to double check all your temps and husbandry though. A loose snake for a day or so shouldn't get sick that easily, unless it was really really cold.

ps. To all those people that think BG's sentence didn't make much sense(he still sees it spelled wrong more than right). BG will put the word in context for you.

There was a crazed maniac on the "loose"(BG) at the mall today.:D

    Now the other word.

If you make BG mad, there is a good chance you are gonna "lose" all things you care about most.:D:D

im getting my snake treated for an RI now. she got sick cuz it got really cold out of nowhere one night here and my apartment sux at staying warm. i didnt have her cage setup for cold weather. i bumped temps to 90-92 in her warm hide, 80 on the cool side and i fed her regularly. make sure u get injections cuz the first vet gave me some cough syrup type stuff to squeeze in her mouth ever 12 hrs and it just made it worse. now i go every 3 days for a shot. #4 and shes almost better
